Welcome to the Charles Forder Education Fund

The Charles Forder Education Fund - CFEF - is a UK registered charity that supports the education of children in Zimbabwe who have been orphaned by
AIDs. To achieve this, CFEF raises funds to pay for the education of AIDs orphaned children and to provide support for them during their educational years.

CFEF is a “Direct Support” charity which menas that all funds donated go directly to the children. Donations are managed and allocated in Zimbabwe by our colleague Sister Mary Francis Kobets. Based in Gweru, Zimbabwe, Sister ‘Fran’ has 40 years’ on-the-ground experience of education in Africa.

Zimbabwe, once touted as the bread basket of Southern Africa (Economist 2002), now has nearly the lowest life expectancy -under 50 years – with less than 30% of children receiving education, together with the largest orphan population on the planet. One million children have lost at least one parent (UNICEF 2013).

Education is desperately far from an orphaned child’s reach. Our desire is to
see an orphaned child sponsored through his or her education until its completion. This will give them the best possible chance of improving their circumstances sustainably, as well as that of their family and dependents.

“Education is the key to unlock the golden door of freedom.”
George Washington Carver

“The things I want to know are in books; my best friend is the man who'll get me a book…”
Abraham Lincoln

CFEF is a charity trying to make a difference for Zimbabwe’s children.
Please help us give hope to the forgotten children of Zimbabwe.
